Woke up this morning with Lifou Island on the horizan, eventually entered the bay and dropped anchor.
Early start to the day, organsied to meet up with William and Elliott and have some breakfast and a swim before heading off to Lifou Island. Had some fruit, time for a swim in the pool. Elliott and I made the mistake of opening our eyes under the water in the pool. They must have had the chlorine pump working overtime over night, 10 seconds in and our eyes were burning, we both thought we'd been struck blind. Pam had an old wives remedy of pouring milk into the eyes, I underwent the first surgery and I'm sure the pain intensified!!! Elliott backed away at speed. We were able to function after about half an hour, so had a painful breakfast. Returned to the cabin for some first aid and relax before the tenders took us to the island.
Arrived at the island about middday, Pam and I did a cursory walk to the markets but soon met the others on the beach. Sun was shining, a soft cool breeze, crystal clear water, soft white sand and we were in like Flynn. Once in however we discovered the cruise lines recommendation to wear surf shoes was a very smart option due to the huge amount of coral from the waterline out to forever. Shoes on and in we went. Magnificent afternoon lazing in the water, Harley and Felicity, William and Elliott hired a couple of kayaks and explored the coast and the reef further out from the beach. Finally dragged ourselves away and returned on the tender for a drink and recuperation.
Very quiet dinner tonight, a couple of sun affected bodies and everyone tired from our busy day at the beach. I think everyone will sleep very well tonight.
Mystery Island tomorrow, stay tuned for a reverting day 4 of this adventure.....

| Never know who'll you meet on an early morning walk? |
| On our way |
| On dry land after 3 days on board |
| Found a spot near here on a busy day on Lifou Island |
| About 50 metres out there is tons of coral |
| Closer to the edge the coral is disintergrating into sand |
| Don't you hate it when someone tries to steal the glory? |
| On our way home, watching the kids jumping off the peir |
| A short walk before tea, mainly because the Captain told us there would be a 'sensational' sunset.....just hope he can drive a ship better than he can predict a sunset? |
| I did find one star on the walk thoug!!! |
